Amazing Oscar performance. I didn't recognize her at first. There was no make-up or glamour...just a mic, a stool, a tee shirt, and a solemn look. I’ve played the guitar for more than 30 years now, mostly rock and metal, and that’s the kind of music I’ve always been into. 10-15 years ago, Lady Gaga was known for songs like Alejandro or Just Dance, which is definitely not my taste. If someone had told me back then that one day I’d be a fan of a Lady Gaga song, I would have told them that they’re nuts. And now look at me… sitting here, listening to this song for the 100th time and it’s still bringing tears to my eyes. How about that... Lady Gaga has created a pure masterpiece of music, so powerful and yet at the same time so full of emotions and she deserves all the credit in the world for that. Her voice… it’s just unbelievable. Even if she will never read those lines, Lady Gaga, I THANK YOU for bringing this song into my life!

During that time, I was going through a rocky time in my relationship with my girlfriend, and we got through it after a short time. Then I had several people close to me that passed away. Now, another person close to me is sick. 3 years ago, I lost my job, and I've had a hard time finding another job. Sometimes I wish things had gone differently. This song reminds me that things will be okay.
